Attractive locations

Sevan National Park

The protected area around Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world. Its shores offer beaches, birdwatching, boat rides and long views across the water to the mountains.

A monastery with two stone churches on a peninsula jutting into Lake Sevan. A flight of steps leads up from the shore, and the top gives sweeping views of the lake.

A small medieval monastery on a rocky promontory beside the western shore of Lake Sevan. A modest stone church stands on a grassy point with the water on both sides.

Orbelian's Caravanserai

A well-preserved stone caravanserai on the Selim mountain pass, once a stop for traders on the Silk Road. Its long, dark hall with vaulted roof gives a feel for travel in medieval times.

Lake Sevan
