Attractive locations

Horseshoe Falls

The largest and most powerful of the three falls, with a wide curved crest on the Canadian side. Mist rises constantly, and viewpoints along the river bank give close views.

American Falls

Straight-crested waterfall on the American side of the river, seen across the gorge from the Canadian promenade. Rocks piled at its base add to the roar.

Journey Behind the Falls

Attraction with tunnels cut into the rock leading to viewing portals right behind the Horseshoe Falls, plus an outdoor platform at the base of the curtain of water.

Skylon Tower

Observation tower rising above the falls with indoor and outdoor decks. From the top you can see both waterfalls, the river and the surrounding city on clear days.

Niagara Whirlpool

Circular eddy in the Niagara Gorge where the river makes a sharp turn. It can be seen from the shore or from above on a historic cable car.

Queenston Heights

Park on the escarpment above the river with lawns, trails and views over the Niagara River. A tall monument recalls General Isaac Brock and the 1812 war.

Niagara-on-the-Lake

A well-kept historic town at the mouth of the Niagara River, with a lively main street, theatres, a fort and nearby vineyards. It is a quieter outing from the falls.
