Government travel advice (read at least one)

These are updated daily by foreign ministries and cover safety, local laws, health and entry rules for every country. They are written for their own citizens but useful for everyone.

Weather, earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanoes

Each country has its own agencies for weather, earthquake, tsunami and volcano warnings, so follow them and the local authorities during your trip. Government travel advice also flags known risks. Volcano alert levels can close hiking trails and, rarely, airports. In an emergency, use the local numbers on the country page.

Check for current disease outbreaks before you go, especially on a longer trip.
