Attractive locations

Railay Beach

Peninsula cut off from the mainland by limestone cliffs and reached only by boat, with sandy beaches and caves. It is a well-known place for rock climbing as well as swimming.

Phi Phi Islands

Island group of steep limestone cliffs, clear bays and coral reefs, reached by boat from Krabi or Phuket. Ko Phi Phi Don has the village and beaches, while Ko Phi Phi Leh holds Maya Bay.

Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea)

Forest temple north of Krabi town built around caves and cliffs, with a long stairway up to a hilltop Buddha shrine and wide views. The climb is steep, so bring water and sturdy shoes.

Ko Lanta Yai

Long, laid-back island south of Krabi with beaches along its west coast, an old fishing town on the east side, and a marine national park nearby. Much quieter than Phuket.

Khao Phanom Bencha National Park

Forested mountain park north of Krabi town with waterfalls, walking trails and wildlife. It offers a cool, green break from the beaches and is a good half-day outing.

Ao Nang

The main beach town of Krabi province, with a long curving bay backed by cafes and shops. Longtail boats leave from here for Railay, the islands and nearby beaches.

Hong Islands (Ko Hong)

A cluster of limestone islands in the Andaman Sea north of Ao Nang, with a hidden lagoon, white-sand coves and clear water for swimming and snorkelling. It is visited by boat tour.
